General questions

 

  • Does this training satisfy the law?
  • Yes, an E-Learning course is an established way of meeting the legal requirement. The food safety laws were updated in 2006 and our programme has incorporated all these changes.

    According the Food standards Agency: "Food handlers must receive appropriate supervision, and be instructed and/or trained in food hygiene, to enable them to handle food safely. Those responsible for developing and maintaining the business's food safety procedures, based on HACCP principles, must have received adequate training".

    On successful completion of the course you will be able to print a certificate which can be shown to the Environmental Health Officer as evidence of training. This certificate edited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Healthcan be used as proof of compliance with the law.

  • I have lost my password, what can I do?
  • You can easily reset your password thanks to the E-Learning platform, or you can send an email to info@ilearningcourses.co.uk and we will help you in the process.

  • When will I get my certificate?
  • Your certificate will be printable once you have passed the exam at the end of the course.

  • How long do I have to complete the course?
  • You will have one calendar year to complete your course, e.g. 1st August 2010 until 1st August 2011.

  • Does the course have to be completed in one go?
  • No, you can complete the modules at your own pace. You can even log off and the system will allows you to bookmark your place so you can stop and start anytime.

     

     

    Technical questions

     

  • What software do I need to run the course?
  • To run the course successfully, it requires 3 key things. Below are links to test whether your PC can run the course.
    Java: http://javatester.org/version.html (There will be a pink box near the top of the page if so.)
    Javascript: http//www.enable-javascript.com (There will be a tick and some yellow text near the top of the page if so)
    Flash: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about (You will see a flash banner confirming it is installed at the top)

  • Do I need speakers?
  • Yes. You will need external speakers or headphones. The course can be completed without audio, but this is not advisable as it could impact the learning effectiveness. We recommend you test your sound before starting, and check your system volume. You can do this in the Windows Taskbar by clicking the Speaker icon. On a Mac the Volume control icon is on the top bar.

  • Will the course run on my Mac?
  • Yes. The course will run on Mac 10.4 (Tiger) or 10.5 (Leopard) with Safari browser, or Firefox 2.0 and above. You will also need  Flash installed.

  • Will the course work on my PC?
  • Yes. The course will work on any Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista or 7 with either Internet Explorer 6 and above or Firefox 2.0 and above.
